Pinot Grigio Marchese Adorno, Dama D’oro, Italy 2014
|This wine is cultivated mainly in the Northern Europe, but the Oltrepo area has proved itself to be an excellent location for its cultivation.
ViticultureThe vineyards producing this variety are from clonal selection and include plants whose density surpasses 5000 stumps, located on the Costa del Sole area. A new method has been applied on the vineyards since 2009 and called “Double maturation” to increase the quality of the vine grapes.
The vinificationThe harvest is made by hand and only the best grapes are selected for the vinification. During this process, the must obtained from the pressing reaches then a balanced colour. The must is then settled in tanks at a cold temperature, while the clear juice is transferred in other tanks to be fermented at a temperature of 18 °C. After a period in which the wine stands on yeasts, it is bottled and it is ready to be sold after three months.
Tasting Notes and ServingThis intense yet elegant Pinot Grigio is recognizable for its straw yellow colour, with golden shades. It has an inviting fruity aroma of William pears, with fresh floral notes. It is a rich, well-structured wine. The serving temperature is 12° C. Perfect partner to fish, white meat and omelettes.
